chWhile throngs of people came to the Mahindarama Buddhist Temple to pray on Vesak Day, Mitta volunteers were very involved in activities of their own. They were there very early to start off the food fair selling arrays of goodies and vegetarian food while their friends were managing the jumble sales which attracted curious members of the public as there were many interesting items put up for sale. At the Reiki Corner in the temple, a group of volunteers was busy with people of all ages who were keen to experience the Reiki energy Despite the heat, the large crowd (the number was beyond expectation!)waited patiently for their turn to experience the Reiki energy. Obviously, they enjoyed the "short" treatment and the warm hands. For most of them, this "first" experience with Reiki was fascinating.
Mitta's participation in this year's Vesak Day celebrations was rewarding not only in the impressive collections from the food fair and jumble sales but the co-operativeness and joy shared among the volunteers and friends.
To each and everyone who has contributed in one way or another,

Its wonderful to see so many Mitta volunteers turned up to help the food fair stalls, jumble sale and Reiki corner on Vesak Day.

Mitta volunteers are very dedicated. They came early transporting the jumble sale items from Mitta premise to the temple. Helped to set up the stalls and start to promote the items for sale. Bro Foo made the fair lively; constantly promoting items through loud speaker, drawing crowds of patrons to the stalls.
Most food items finished by 1 pm.
Though everybody was tired but, we had fun and felt very happy putting our joint efforts together to raise fund for the temple.
Sadhu to all volunteers. ....

Dear All,
It was a fruitful day that I spent at the jumble sale lending my voice for a good cause.

It managed to rake in quite a tidy sum as I was told. It is the team spirit that get things going. Despite the crowd, searing heat and noise, it was a day of fun and camaraderie.

Hopefully all our effort brings hope and assistance to all in need. Sadhu
